Volunteering/Auxiliary

Effingham Health System is always eager to train and orient new volunteers in a variety of roles throughout the hospital.  For those considering a volunteer position, these are some of the benefits:

  • Finding personal fulfillment that can come from serving others;
  • Becoming involved with an organization that helps both individuals and the community;
  • Making new friends;
  • Gain knowledge about health and so much more.

The hospital offers volunteers the opportunity to work in a variety of areas within the hospital. Volunteers receive a comprehensive orientation/training period in specific areas of interest, including:

  • Gift Shop
  • Care Center
  • Courtesy Desk

Proceeds from the Effingham Health System Auxiliary Gift Shop and other fundraising activities are an important source of funding for the hospital. Members of the Auxiliary help in virtually every aspect of the hospital’s daily operation. To inquire about how to become a member of the Effingham Health System Auxiliary, contact Laura Ellis 912.754.0345 or ellisla@effinghamhospital.org.
