Current Hospital Visitation Policy

Masks are required in all areas of the facility.

All visitors will be screened for COVID-19, including temperature checks, upon entry.

Current ER visitation:

All patient’s presenting to the Emergency Department will be allowed one dedicated visitor with the following exceptions:

  • Persons >18 years old suspected with COVID-19. No visitors until test results are negative. Per physician request, patient may be allowed one dedicated visitor while tests are pending. Visitor must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Any patient who presents with known positive COVID-19. No visitors, unless a physician request/order, patient may have one dedicated visitor. Visitor must wear appropriate PPE.
  • A dedicated visitor means one person can remain throughout the patient’s visit. Visitors will not be allowed to change out with other visitors. All visitors must be screened at the front entrance and will not be allowed to visit if they screen positive or have fever. The visitor must wear a face mask at all time and remain in the patient’s room.

Any deviation from these guidelines is for life-threatening, critical emergencies or for end of life and compassionate care. These deviations must be at the discretion of the provider.

Med Surg visitation effective 3/15/2021

All admitted patients will be allowed one visitor during the hours of 10am-5pm with the following exceptions:

  • Pediatric patients will be allowed both guardians to visit and may remain in the patient’s room 24/7.
  • If a patient is on comfort care / end of life, the patient may have two visitors 24/7.
  • If a patient has an altered mental status or unable to make their needs known, they may have one visitor 24/7.
  • Any patient who has a with known positive COVID-19. No visitors unless:
    • Patient is on comfort care / end of life, the patient may have two visitors.
    • If a patient has an altered mental status or unable to make their needs known, they may have one dedicated visitor 24/7.
    • Visitors must wear appropriate PPE and remain in the patient’s room. The physician must place an order for visitation in the record.
  • A visitor means one person > age 18 can visit. All visitors must be screened at the front entrance and will not be allowed to visit if they screen positive or have fever. The visitor must wear a face mask at all time and remain in the patient’s room.

Surgical Services visitation effective 3/15/2021

  • All patients presenting for surgery may have one visitor during the visit. The visitor will remain in the Atrium during the surgical visit and will be updated by the OR team as to the patients’ progress. The surgeon will follow up with the visitor following the procedure either by phone or in person in the Atrium.

Physician Practices and Caner Center effective 3/15/2021

  • All patients may have one visitor during their appointment time. The visitor must be screened prior to entry and will be required to wear a face mask. If the visitor screens positive or has a fever, they will not be allowed entry to the appointment,
