(Springfield, GA) July, 2026 — Effingham Health System has purchased an advanced 256-Slice CT (computed tomography) Scanner. This advanced CT Scanner is an upgrade from the current 64-Slice CT Scanner in the EHS Imaging Department. The new scanner is expected to be installed and serving patients by early summer 2026.

Demand for imaging services continues to grow, with Effingham Health System experiencing a 165% increase in CT scan procedures since fiscal year 2016—reflecting both population growth and increased reliance on advanced diagnostic tools.

Fewer patient transfers, as expanded cardiac capabilities and continuous imaging access allow more patients to be diagnosed and treated locally rather than being sent to larger, out-of-county hospitals
