Emergency Care for Patients with Chest Pain
Effingham Hospital provides emergency evaluation and management for patients who are experiencing chest pain. Medical care is provided by board certified, emergency medicine physicians, certified in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).
Level IV Trauma Center Designation
Chest pain evaluation is located in Effingham Hospital’s Emergency Department and is accessible via ambulance or through the Emergency entrance of the hospital.
Minutes Count
If it is determined that a patient is experiencing a heart attack; the attending physician will immediately initiate medical therapy directed at restoring blood flow to the heart, as well as maintaining a heart rhythm. The physician will then arrange for rapid transport to a chest pain center where the patient can be further managed by a cardiologist. Transportation options include ambulance as well as Life Flight by helicopter.
